Why aircon not cold? Or not working?

Aircon filters acts as the first line of defence against dirt particle and etc. This help to slow down or prevent the evaporator from choke which will hinder the flow of the cool air generate from the fan coil.

A: Consumer should clean the aircon filter frequently as it is easily assessable by just open the cover of the chassis. This will lower the probability of incurring more repair / maintenance cost at a later stage.

Blocked indoor evaporator coil

S: This is a common scenario if consumer neglect on the maintenance of aircon. Stubborn sticky dirt or dust will form layer over the evaporator coil which hinder the flow of the cool air from blowing out of the fan coil.

Blocked condenser coil / Dirty compressor unit

S: This is a common scenario as the condenser is located outdoor and consumer will tend to neglect it. This prevent heat generate from the condenser coil from escaping which may result the compressor to stop (safety feature).

S: This is a rare scenario. This normally occurred when there is leak in the system. Freezing of evaporator coil is a good indication of this problem.

Faulty compressor unit

S: This is an extremely rare scenario. The function of the compressor is to pump the refrigerant gas throughout the aircon piping system. Without it, heat exchange process could not be performed hence the entire aircon system will be down.

A: Consumer should check on the validity of the warranty for the compressor unit. Normally it should have a 5 years’ warranty coverage exclude labour. Please contact reliable aircon specialist to verify before doing any claim.

Faulty thermostat sensors (indoor or outdoor)

S: This is an uncommon scenario. This normally occurred due to wear and tear over a period of time. The function of this sensors indirectly control the expansion valve at the end of evaporator coil. It monitors the temperature difference between surrounding, evaporator coil and condenser side. If the sensor is not sensitive, the expansion valve may not open / open to the desire level for refrigerant gas to circulate in the system.

Electric control failure

S: This is an uncommon scenario. This usually happens if the airconditioner turns on and off frequently which normally found in oversize system or the temperature setting is set close to the surrounding temperature.
